Tony has misgivings for a moment, sure, but it's basically "let's go get one from the store." For pete's sake, Reed says, "I think I can have this done by Thursday." My god, WHAT HAS SCIENCE DONE?!?
It's like, picking up a car from the shop. Never mind the fact that they destroyed a planet to get this Steve (according to the theory, anyway).
Yeah, like, for Tony you'd think that he'd pause, but Reed? He has his family, and as long as they aren't affected, he doesn't give a toss.
Feel free to discard these two pennies in a coffee tin, but I lost it at the Tony-switches-sides part. Even with the Sentinels and government backstabbing, I still ... I know I know, I'll get my coat.
Ah, yeah, I hear you. I do. I actually admired Tony's stance in Civil War, how he was willing to go to the wall for it and I think that he'd have held on to it until it became untenable - that's my excuse anyway. Sometimes the ends don't match the means and all that.
And the interesting progression of Ultimate Steve at the end. Weird how this whole story, I considered the Ultimate U "home base." Felt good to be back there at the end, all things considered.
I'm a 1610 chick, though. I only come to 616 verse on pain of death... or a prompt. Or both. Also, I wanted to have a nod to the canon since in 1610 Steve has seen his concept of country and glory come into question since Ultimate Galactus and Ultimate Six -not to mention the upcoming canon. I just wanted that nod, you know? Ult verse is my verse. :DDDD
This fic is going in the very small collection of "will re-read several times" box. My hats off to you, Jazz, you brilliant creature you.
That is very flattering. Seriously. Thank you very much for reading and commenting and I'm so glad that it was worth the click through.
Hey up, me old
